Welcome to Brightland Maze! These terms apply when you buy games from us at brightlandmaze.se and when you play our online cases in the Arena. Please read them before you buy – by completing a purchase you accept the terms.
1. About us
Brightland Maze is run by Brightland Maze AB (Swedish company reg. no. 559548-8189), based in Stockholm, Sweden – “we” or “us” below.
- Email: contact@brightlandmaze.se
- Website: brightlandmaze.se
2. How the purchase works
You add games to the cart and complete the purchase at checkout. The agreement between you and us is made when the payment has gone through and you have received an order confirmation by email. Please check that the details are correct and contact us right away if anything is wrong.
You must be at least 18 years old to buy, or have a guardian's consent. We may decline or cancel an order in case of obvious errors, such as incorrect prices, or suspected fraud. If so, we refund what you have paid.
3. Our games
3.1 Physical boxes
A physical game is a box with everything you need to play, delivered to you (see Delivery). The contents of each box are described on the game's page.
3.2 Online cases
An online case is played in the Arena on brightlandmaze.se and on the websites that belong to the game. When you buy an online case you receive an activation code by email – if you are signed in to your Arena account, the case is also added to the account right away.
- One code, one game. The code lets one team play the case once. How many players can join the team is stated on the game's page.
- Seven days to play. Once the game has been started for the first time, the team has seven days to finish it. You can pause and continue, also from different devices, as long as the seven days have not passed. There is no deadline for starting an unused code.
- Email and mobile. An email address and a mobile number are verified when the game is started. During the game the team may receive emails, text messages and phone calls as part of the story.
- Technology. You need a connected computer, tablet or mobile phone with a modern browser, and a mobile phone that can receive text messages and calls.
3.3 Language
Each game shows the languages it is available in. If a game is available in several languages you choose the language when you buy, and the game is then played in that language. Please check the language before you complete the purchase – a purchased game cannot be switched to another language.
3.4 Gifts
Online cases can be bought as gifts. The recipient receives the code by email or a phone call at the time you choose at checkout. You are responsible for the recipient's details being correct. Once the gift has been delivered to the details you gave, the purchase counts as delivered.
3.5 Arena account
An Arena account is free. It collects your online cases, your statistics and your orders. You are responsible for keeping your details correct and your password secret. Contact us if you want to close your account.
4. Prices and payment
All prices are in Swedish kronor (SEK) including VAT. The shipping cost for physical boxes is shown at checkout before you pay.
Payments are handled by our payment providers Kustom and PayPal. The available payment methods (for example card and invoice) are shown at checkout. When you pay through one of them, their terms apply as well. We never see your card details.
Discount codes are valid for the period and on the conditions stated for the code, cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be combined with other discounts unless stated otherwise.
5. Delivery
5.1 Physical boxes
Boxes are sent with DHL to the service point you choose at checkout. We normally ship within 1–2 working days of your order, and you get an email when the parcel is on its way. The carrier lets you know when it is ready to collect. If an item is temporarily out of stock, we will tell you without delay.
We deliver within Sweden. If a parcel is not collected it is returned to us, and we may then charge our actual costs for shipping and return shipping. If a shipment is lost or damaged before it reaches you, contact us and we will sort it out.
5.2 Online cases
Online cases are delivered digitally right after payment: the activation code is sent by email and the case is added to your Arena account if you are signed in. If you have not received anything within an hour, check your spam folder and then contact us.
6. Right of withdrawal
6.1 Physical boxes
You have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Swedish Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act (2005:59). The period starts on the day you receive the item. Let us know within the period by email to contact@brightlandmaze.se – include your order number – or use the standard withdrawal form.
The box must be returned to us without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you told us you are withdrawing. You pay for the return shipping. The box should be unopened and in essentially the same condition as when you received it; if the seal has been broken and the contents used, we may deduct for the loss in value. We refund the amount, including the original standard shipping cost, no later than 14 days after receiving your notice – but we may wait until we have received the box or you have shown that it has been sent.
6.2 Online cases
Online cases are digital content delivered immediately. When you expressly agree at checkout that delivery starts immediately, and acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, there is no right of withdrawal for the online cases once they have been delivered. If something is wrong with an online case, the complaint rules below apply.
7. Complaints
You have the right to complain about faults in goods and digital content under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act (2022:260). The right applies for three years from delivery. Tell us within a reasonable time after discovering the fault – two months is always considered reasonable. Email contact@brightlandmaze.se with your order number and a description of the fault, and we will put it right, for example by sending a new part, replacing the item or refunding you.
If an online case does not work as it should because of a technical fault on our side, we extend the playing time or give you a new code.
8. Support
We help you by email with questions about orders, deliveries, your account and technical problems, and reply as soon as we can. Support does not help you solve the cases – but the games have their own clues.
9. Use of the games
The games are for private use unless otherwise agreed. If you want to use them for corporate events, teaching or other commercial purposes, please contact us.
The games, stories, texts, images, films and sounds are protected by copyright and belong to us or our partners. You may not copy, distribute, resell or publish the content, or share activation codes publicly. In case of serious misuse – such as reselling codes – we may block the code or the account without a refund.
The events and characters in the games are fictional. The websites, emails, text messages and calls that belong to a game are part of the fiction.
10. Reviews, photos and extras
When you write a review or upload a photo, you give us the right to show it on brightlandmaze.se and on the game websites, in connection with the game. We review reviews before they are published and may choose not to publish them. Only upload photos you have the right to share and where everyone shown has agreed. If you sign up as an extra, what you agree to in the sign-up applies.
11. Personal data and cookies
We process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). How we do it is described in our privacy policy. The cookies we use are listed on the cookies page.
12. Liability
We are not liable for indirect damage or loss, nor for faults caused by your own equipment, internet connection or mobile operator. This limitation does not apply if we have been grossly negligent, and it never restricts your rights under mandatory consumer law.
13. Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our control that we could not reasonably have foreseen or avoided, such as natural disasters, war, pandemics, strikes, decisions by authorities or disruptions to public communication, power or transport networks. We will let you know as soon as we can. If the delay is substantial, you may cancel the purchase and get your money back.
14. Changes to the terms
We may change these terms. A purchase is always governed by the terms that applied when you made it.
15. Disputes and governing law
Swedish law applies to these terms and to the purchase. If you are not satisfied, please contact us first – we want to put it right. If we cannot agree, you can turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN), arn.se, Box 174, SE-101 23 Stockholm. Disputes can also be tried by a Swedish general court.
